Service to His Church,

Thank you to all the following people, who helped take down the Advent decorations in the sanctuary. This month we pay special tribute to our Sunday School teachers and assistants... who so faithfully share their time and talent with our children...
You’ve heard it talked about for more than a year now. The opportunities for comments and suggestions have been welcomed and received. There have been special congregational meetings called and articles written in the church newsletter. Our architects have worked hard and listened to input from any and all who have had constructive ideas to share. Final blueprints have been drawn. Financial expertise has been sought and solicited. Now the time has come to put our money where our faith is!
Beginning at the end of this month and continuing toward the first Sunday of May 2000, your church will be involved in a major Capital Development Campaign to raise the need monies to help finance our Restoration and Building Fund. The professional services of the United Church of Christ’s Capital Development Team have been retained. With their help, we will be challenged and respond to raising the needed monies to protect and preserve this old church that is so precious and important to this generation and the next. The dates the United Church of Christ Development Team will be with us in Manitou are as follows:
At the conclusion of this Capital Drive Campaign, we will assess the financial success of the project. Based up the monies pledged over a three-year period, along with any historic grants received, investment utilized or loans obtained, the restoration and building of the church will commence sometime this summer. Information will be made available in a timely and responsible way to the congregation on Sunday mornings, publications and letters and specially called meetings. One person perhaps said it best recently after church… “We are going to have a great year to celebrate!” With that kind of positive thinking and faithful attention to the process we now undertake… great things will happen, and the continued good work of this church will move forward toward a bright future!

please call Ann Rodgers at 685-9305. There
is no preparation required to be an aide to our dedicated teachers – just your
supportive presence, an encouraging word, or help with a craft. You can choose
